In Which Books Are Portals

"I love books. I love that moment when you open one and sink into it; you can escape from the world, into a story that's way more interesting than yours will ever be." --Elizabeth Scott

Some of my best friends have come from books. They have shown me comfort in times of trouble, and given me advice when I am lost. Books are but passages into another world, a place for us to escape when we no longer wish to linger in our own stories. All we must do is open a book, and our troubles disappear--at least for the time being--as we delve into a tale of adventure, and live vicariously through fictional characters.

I can't wait to begin reading these books, which I just received for Christmas :) It will be an amazing experience, with only a cup of hot coffee by my side to anchor me to the real world. Imagination is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

  2. I so agree with you Jessica! If I didnt have books to escape to, I'm not sure how sane I would be! They are my creative outlet, my portal to a world where anything can happen, and I dont have to worry about my own shortcomings, becuase they no longer exist. Its a magical thought, to know that anything can happen, as long as someone has the courage to write it, to immortalize their thoughts in the rational world. In simpler terms, books are the safest type of adventure. I'm sure you understand what I mean when I say that :)

Have a lovely evening Miss Jessica!

    Love,
